Many people claim that the screeching come out of the boiling lobsters is the lobsters screaming in pain. But this isn't the case at all, Lobsters do not have vocal cords. It is simply air escaping from their shells. But this doesn't mean that Lobsters and other Crustaceans simply don't feel pain. Some studies suggest that they in fact do experience pain in some degrees. Studies such as the shocking of crabs in certain areas. After the initial shock, they avoided the area in the future. Suggesting that they in fact do experience pain. But scientist aren't ready to go ahead and make the statement that they do experience pain. Also no where near ready to get fishermen to change their practices.
