Stray Dogs in the world are an increasing problem. In the "Global Stray Dog Population Crisis" by Patti Strand, it is stated by the World Health Organization that there are more than 200,000,000 stray dogs worldwide. In Bali alone, there are 500,000 stray dogs. Every year, 55,000 people die from rabies. 99% of these fatalities are causes by dogs. 95% percent of these cases are reported in Asia and Africa. Thankfully, America and other western countries have gained the attention of this problem, and we don't have a problem with rabies and stray dogs. It is interesting to think that dogs can cause so much harm. We don't think of dogs as being detrimental to the human population, but in other countries they really are. I enjoyed learning about the statistics of rabies and stray dogs.
